MATTHEW J. FERO
Matthew J. Fero is a partner in the law firm of Fero & Caputo, LLP. He is engaged in the general practice of law with specific concentration on family law.
Mr. Fero received his bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University in 1998 and his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law in 2003. He is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association and was admitted to the New York State Bar Fourth Judicial Department in 2004 and subsequently to the Federal Bar in the Western District of New York and United States Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Fero was the recipient of the James R. Boyle Award for Child Advocacy in 2013 and the William E. McKnight Volunteer Service Award in 2016.
Mr. Fero is the Vice Chairman of the Monroe County Water Authority. He was appointed to the Water Authority’s Board of Directors in January 2018 and currently serves as the chairman of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Fero is the Co-Chairman of Monroe County’s Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers assistance committee as well as a member of the Monroe County Bar Association’s Fee Arbitration committee.
Mr. Fero has represented parties throughout New York State in complicated family law matters.
MICHAEL J. CAPUTO
Michael J. Caputo is a partner in the law firm of Fero & Caputo, LLP. He is engaged in the general practice of law with a specific concentration on family law.
Mr. Caputo received his Bachelor’s Degree from Seattle University in 2005, his Master’s Degree from Fordham University in 2008, and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013. Mr. Caputo was admitted to the New York State Bar, Third Judicial Department in 2014 and subsequently to the Federal Bar in the Western District of New York. He is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Before joining Fero & Caputo, LLP in 2021, Mr. Caputo litigated commercial and employment disputes for seven years, including at major international law firms in Jones Day’s Manhattan office and Nixon Peabody’s Rochester office.
