Dean J. Fero Founder (b. 1930 – d.2016)

Dean J. Fero practiced law for over sixty years until his death in 2016. He was the founding partner in the firm of Fero & Caputo, LLP. He was the original founder of the Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers Committee. His honors included the first humanitarian award of the Monroe County Bar Association and in 2004, the legal newspaper, the Daily Record, gave its Nathaniel Award to him for his many contributions to Rochester Area.

Remembered by his family and friends as a man who “… walked the walk and led by example. He always stressed that the most important thing about being a lawyer and a human being is honesty and compassion. He was never motivated by money. His motivation was doing the right thing for the right reasons. He was a man of integrity and, if he made a deal with a handshake, that was the deal…”
